Former Zimbabwe international Khama Billiat has cracked the nod for the CAF Champions League Team of the Decade for the period spanning 2010 to 2020.
Billiat joins his two former teammates at Mamelodi Sundowns Percy Tau and Denis Onyango and eight others who have also made the cut for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Best XI for the period in question.
The 32-year-old Zimbabwean was part of the famous Masandawana squad that won the CAF Champions League title back in 2016 after beating Egyptian outfit Zamalek 3-1 on aggregate to win the competition for the first time in the history of the South African club.
Apart from the 2016 achievements with the Brazilians, the former Warriors talisman once again featured in the final of the aforementioned competition with current club Kaizer Chiefs in 2021, although they lost the game to Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Owing to his prowess on the field of play, Billiat has found himself earning another notch on his belt ultimately flying not only the Zimbabwean flag high but also that of the Brazilians.
Having started his career at Caps United in 2010, the Zimbabwean midfielder went onto make a name across the Limpopo were reached his career highs during his time at Mamelodi Sundowns between 2013 and 2018.
Only Billiat, Tau and Zambian defender Stoppila Sunzu are the players from the COSAFA Region that have been included in the CAF Champions League Team of the Decade that is dominated by players who are either playing for or have once turned out for African powerhouse Al Ahly.
