Zimbabwe international Marvelous Nakamba was once again recognised for his impressive feats in Luton Town colours as another strong performance saw him being handed with the man of the match award in his sides 3-1 win over Blackpool.
Despite falling behind in the 29th minute, Luton Town produced an impressive fightback which began with a first half injury time equaliser by Pelly Mpanzu before second half strikes by Carlton Morris and Pelly Mpanzu ensured the hosts picked up maximum points.
Again in the thick of things was Marvelous Nakamba who walked away with the man of the match accolade following yet another impressive showing. With an 87 percent passing accuracy Nakamba won 6 of the 11 ground duels he was involved in while making 1 interception and 1 tackle.
After the game Nakamba was handed the man of the match accolade together with the player of the month award for March.
The 3-1 win thrust Luton Town just 5 points behind second placed Sheffield United. Although Sheffield boast of two games in hand Luton still have a realistic chance of challenging for automatic promotion. Although destiny does not lie in their hands in as far as gaining automatic qualification, consistent performances and their ability to capitalise on any slip ups by Sheffield will be key in the coming matches.
If Luton are unable to secure a top two finish which will guarantee them automatic promotion into the Premier League, there will be another opportunity of gaining promotion via play-offs which will feature sides that finish from 3rd to 6th.
