Former Caps United and Harare City assistant coach Mark Mathe has started his new job at Premier Soccer League side Bulawayo Chiefs ahead of the resumption of the game at the end of the month.
As the Ninjas prepare for the Chibuku Super Cup which marks the return of domestic top flight football action on September 29, the experienced Mathe takes the Bulawayo Chiefs assistant coach position following the club’s reshuffle to its technical department.
Soon after his appointment, the coach took the squad for some drills and the club’s social media page was awash with pictures of him with the boys in training this afternoon.
The gaffer, who in most cases prefers to operate in shadows, has had stints with Highlanders, Caps United and Harare City in the Premier Soccer League.
At the Sunshine Boys he worked under Mark Harrison while at Makepekepe and Highlanders he deputised Lloyd Chitembwe and Kelvin Kaindu respectively.
It is hoped Mathe’s experience in the domestic top flight will steer Bulawayo Chiefs to victory.
