Come Again hosted Chegutu Pirates in what promised to be a bruising battle at Chakari Stadium.
Chegutu threatened early on with a near post header saved before a follow up effort by Isaac Benalo was blocked by Come Again goalminder Nyasha Mafunga.
Come Again also threatened with a well driven effort going over the bar.
Chegutu Pirates set piece specialist Simbarashe Domingo then tested Mafunga who tipped over a well taken curled effort.
With action swinging from one end to the other Chegutu Pirates would eventually draw first blood courtesy of a swift counter attack which saw Tawanda Mtopa placing the ball at the far post.
In the second half the visitors would then go in search of a second but were denied by some impressive goalkeeping.
Second half substitute Lewis Milanzi who was giving the Come Again backline a torrid time down the right-hand channel embarked on a fine run before finding Gift Mwinga who dragged his effort wide.
Moments later Mwinga was again guilty of spurning a glorious opportunity after failing to make contact with an inviting cross from the left-hand channel.
Chegutu was again on the front foot with Milanzi’s effort saved before a follow up header struck the cross bar.
Despite Come Again coming close at the death the encounter would end in a 1-nil victory for Chegutu Pirates who registered a second consecutive victory.
