Current log leaders of the Premier Soccer League Caps United, are gearing up to face off against Chicken Inn in what is expected to be a thrilling match at Luveve Stadium on Sunday.
The team, also known as “Makepekepe,” had a successful practice session at their training grounds at Standard Chartered Sports Club, where some of the players competed against Aces Youth Academy.
During a press conference in the capital, Lloyd Chitembwe, spoke about his expectations for a tough match against Chicken Inn. He stated that it is no easy feat to play against a team as talented as Chicken Inn, who have been one of the top teams in the country in recent years.
“The expectations are the same, we have always expected teams to be difficult to play especially when we are playing away from home and Chicken Inn in recent years I think have been one of the top teams in the country so the expectations are that it is not going to be an easy game, it is going to be a very difficult game”, said Chitembwe.
When questioned about the team’s health, Chitembwe confirmed that there are no injuries to worry about heading into the game. Chitembwe expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance so far, having avoided defeat in all of their first five games.
“I think it gives us a platform to believe, it gives us a platform to give credit to the way we have been planning our sessions and the way we have been planning for our games” said Chitembwe.
He credited the team’s positive start to their planning and training effort. With high hopes for the upcoming match, Chitembwe is eager to see his team maintain their unbeaten streak.
